This is all about a:
1972 Datsun 240z
+Powered by a Nissan VG30ET (Nissan's turbo-charged 3.0L V6)
++Powered by the Megasquirt II ECU (A DIY engine control computer)

This website is for my car. That's right, a website focused soley on a project car of mine. That's just a taste of how awesome I am. I purchased the car on March 16th, 2006 and was determined to put a Nissan VG30ET engine in it, since my last car was a 1984 Nissan 300ZX (with a VG30ET in it). I liked how simple the engine was and how easy it was to work on. What's really nice is how strong the engine is, like Viper engine potential minus 4 cylinders and 400 horsepower or so. Or 500. Either way, it's a nice strong engine for people on a budget. It's not especially heavy, and it is easy to tune. Parts are everywhere since a lot of Nissan's cars used it in the 80s and 90s.

Well, I don't have the 300ZX anymore, but I came across a cheap 240Z, and after scrounging around 500 bucks, it was mine. Of course, the first thing I did was through out the stock motor, the L28. Although it is an inline six, it is too big and to old to be attractive to me. I thought about RB26 for a few seconds: too expensive. Then I concluded that since I have VG engines laying around, I should use that. I couldn't find any info on the swap, since no on has done it before. Turns out that someone on Hybridz.org did the same thing, and his turned out all right. I've also seen a couple pics of other VG swaps into early Z's. No write-ups though.

I intend to go a little further than the swaps I've seen. At least one turbo, SCCA legal cage, Mid-engine placement (behind the front "axle") for optimum (haha, I hope!) handling, fuel cell, tricked out suspension. Oh, and of course Megasquirt engine management, since nothing else makes sense in comparison. With my budget, this should only take about 40 or 50 years to complete!

Why BLOZUP as it's name? You'll see.
