I took off the secondaries and added the wastegate. I had my machine shop drill the initial hole, and then I just elongated it to match some 1-1/4" pipe cut at around 45 degrees.
Before I put the wastegate on, I fixed a few of the exhaust leaks and restarted:
After the wastegate tube is on:
Cleaning gasket surfaces and assembling lower intake, etc.:
Here's the engine more or less how it was when I first started it:
And here's some nasty looking oil coming out of the turbocharger's feed line. The coolant pipe there is just in case there's anything left in the motor. I don't want any surprises on the floor.
...Which I ended up having anyway as the oil feed line wasn't tightened enough on the block end.
Here's the stock ignition box. The ECU doesn't control spark, from what I have been reading in the FSM, this box just takes power, ground, and the signal from the hall sensor (or whatever it is in the distributor) and outputs to the coil. Interesting. Anyway, I traced the coil negative to this box and I think I'll just tap MS's output to it, using the stock wiring harness since it's a stretch from the MS box to the coil, with how I cut the harness, anyway.
And this is how much room I have to work with on the passenger side:
