2008.06.22 - Bought another 240Z, one that hasn't been wrecked. However, it has a lot of rust. Still need a job. Also managed to wreck photo album section. Don't expect it back up any time soon.
2008.04.29 - Finally got car on a trailer and towed it home. Engine mounts held engine during all 300 miles, even with my driving. I think they are good. Need new job.
2008.02.22 - Still no luck getting car here. Maybe during Spring Break. Moved the site to a new host, though. https://www.nearlyfreespeech.net/.
2008.01.18 - Just need a trailer and some time to bring car to Arlington.
2007.08.20 - Moved to Arlington, TX
2007.07.12 - Finished up the motor mounts, and they hold the motor. I need to redo the driver's side one, though. I haven't made a tranny mount yet, but won't have time this summer. Car is back home. Got started on gauge panel as well.
2007.06.13 - 1/8" 24x24" A36 sheet arrived. Got started on the mounts. Driver's side is more or less complete. Also got Griffin Radiator today. It looks okay, except there's not effing mount holes or anything. Apparently it was designed to hover in place.
2007.06.07 - Engine is still in place. Cut out spare tire well; spilled Arizona Tea over self and car in process. Cursed. Cut off passenger side engine mount to clear alternator. Or most of it, anyway. You can only be so accurate with a sawz-all. Gauges, IAT sensor, and VSS sensor arrived.
2007.06.05 - Bought Prosport electric boost, water temp., fuel pressure, oil pressure gauges -$157;
Bought more wire, fuel level gauge, IAT and CLT sensors, & Griffin radiator -$307,
2007.05.30 - The engine is in "in place" but mounts need to be made.
2007.05.22 - Had the cars towed to the shop. Began the actual engine swapping process. -$140
2007.05.09 - Bought a Z31 for it's engine. -$400
2007.04.27 - Bought MS Relay board, lots of wire, weatherpack kit, Innovate LC-1, Moroso switch panel. -$450
2007.04.25 - Bought 16 gal. fuel cell, braided hose and fittings, fuel pump, & battery relocation kit -$680
2007.04.24 - Bought Megasquirt II kit (3 bar map sensor). -$277
2007.04.22 - Took some stuff home from college. Have some money. I need to turn a wrench before I go insane. Will be back in two weeks or so.
2007.02.06 - Damn, college is fun. Real college that is. For the most part. Well, it has it's down side. Anyway, nothing on the car. I touched it over Xmas break, and it didn't fall apart. I suppose that's good. Maybe this summer. Probably not, though.
2006.07.22 - Going to college in a month, project needs to be cleaned up and put in storage till next summer.
2006.06.15 - Picked up used T5 Transmission. -$125.
2006.06.10 - Painted block "Desert Strike" Tan. Looks sweet.
2006.06.05 - Had engine block and heads cleaned. Block looks good. Passenger side head is beat up.
2006.05.28 - Bought early maxima and later maxima intakes, along with some coolant pipes and thermostat housing. -$130
2006.05.26 - Trashed R180 differential, trashed bad engine block. Took good engine block to work.
2006.05.20 - Removed underbody lines (brake, fuel, vent), parking brake stuff and some other stuff. Test fitted engine on stand in engine bay.
2006.05.11 - Received nice looking distributor. -$30
2006.04.28 - After dissassembly, the new shortblock is dirty and the old tensioner is stubborn, but sleeves are good.
2006.04.23 - Got another shortblock -$20 and a nice looking alternator -$10.
2006.04.21 - May have much needed new job at same old dyno place back.
2006.04.15 - Removed windshield... in pieces. Cut myself for the first time on this car. I'm cursed.
2006.04.13 - Removed handbrake and lots of insulation crap.
2006.04.12 - Removed hatch latch. Started to remove the last item, the handbrake, but instead, I sat around and thought about the car intimately. Need a job.
2006.04.10 - Removed front and rear suspension. Almost ready to be mediablasted.
2006.04.08 - Removed fenders, bumper, hood, hatch, doors and associated hardware. Removed tail lights and trim. Found lots more bondo than anticipated. Whole rear bottom sheet needs to be replaced. HA! You can't discourage me!
2006.04.06 - Moved car inside -$75.
2006.04.05 - Sold bumpers. +$230.
2006.04.04 - Awaiting more cash money. Need to move car inside.
2006.04.01 - Inquired about mediablasting and sealing: ~$1500
2006.03.29 - Removed seals, headliner, and junk from car and removed some fiberglass body work: found more rust.
2006.03.27 - The engine block is junk. Sleeves are scored too much. Hopefully the crank and heads are fine.
2006.03.27 - Called about mediablasting; no answer. Called about storage; no answer. Called about cleaning motor: ~$110, and I have to take it apart. Ugh, I have to get dirty in order for them to clean it, dammit.
2006.03.25 - Picked up VG30ET motor, without the turbo. Received 280z half-shafts. -$100.
2006.03.23 - Picked up L24's tranny. Threw it away.
2006.03.21 - Removed more wiring. Started to remove transmission tunnel crap. May have an engine secured.
2006.03.19 - Removed Brake Master & Booster and Clutch master & slave.
2006.03.18 - Removed more interior crap, door panels, wiring, and other misc items. Removed bumpers for potential sale.
2006.03.17 - More interior scrapped. L24 removed.
2006.3.16 - 240z Bought. Most of interior scrapped. -$500
